Freedom has a rhythm that doesn’t follow convention. It doesn’t care about popular opinion, social expectations or the structure of the calendar, or clock. Freedom ebbs and flows with the cycle of seasons and knocks of opportunities. And for over a decade, so have I. I am a wandering seasonal nomad who found her one true home with yoga. Read More
Most recently I became an E-RYT 500 hour Certified Teacher with Yoga Alliance, a Mat Pilates Instructor, a Traditional Thai Masseuse, and a yoga studio owner, but first I worked as a rafting river guide for 12 years. The whole world turned into my playground when I discovered the whitewater world at the age of 21, and this is where I learned to move with the seasons.
I used to obsess over ways to line up opposing seasons and adapt my travel plans to fit weather cycles happening on the other side of the planet. I became an extremely skilled backpacker who would scrape by with the bare essentials in order to extend adventure plans right up until the beginning of the next rafting season.
Wandering the globe as a nomad is adventurous and fun, but with freedom comes the price of isolation, loneliness, and feeling uprooted. It can wear you down. This is when yoga came in and played a pivotal role in my life. I have been a dedicated yogi since the age of eighteen, and yoga has been my one constant as I travelled, worked, and lived in 24 different countries.
Yoga keeps me strong, focused, and flexible so I can play the sports I love, wanderlust around the globe, and make a living along the way. Sharing my love for yoga, health, wellness, travel, pilates, sport, and the great outdoors is my ultimate passion. Will you come and join me?

Enjoy the good life with Kanami and Andrew
This fall, join Kanami and Andrew for a dream beach holiday filled with yoga, adventure, culinary delight, and tropical bliss in Puerto Escondido. An idyllic beach town on Mexico’s Oaxacan Coast, Puerto has managed to remain under the radar of mainstream tourism in spite of its world-class surfing, long stretches of golden sand beaches, growing yoga community, and thriving culinary scene.
It is known as a surfing Mecca due to it’s infamous and absolutely giant wave on Zicatela beach, but there is an abundance of other great things to do in the area.
Unplug from the digital world and reboot your health & well-being with yoga, nature, and meaningful connections.
Wake up every morning to a fresh plate of tropical fruit, followed by a morning yoga class led by Kanami on the rooftop yoga palapa. Expect a practice filled with intention-setting meditations, uplifting pranayama, and feel-good vinyasa flow. In the afternoons, alternate between sweaty power practices (Kanami’s favourite!) and relaxing yin yoga to nourish your body and spirit.
In between your two daily yoga classes there will be plenty of free time to read a book in a hammock, go for a surf, take a siesta, or go and explore the charming little beach towns of La Punta and Zicatela.
Stay in a private retreat villa only minutes from the beach, with many cute cafes, restaurants, and bars nearby to try out and get to know. Kanami and Andrew recently moved into their newly built home just up the street from the villa, and therefore have great insider’s knowledge on all the best local spots to recommend. They have both traveled all over the world, and Puerto is one of their favourite places on the planet.
Come and enjoy La Buena Vida in Puerto Escondido with us, and see for yourself why we chose to call this special little beach town our new second home. Sit back, relax, let us plan out your dream beach yoga holiday!
Retreat includes 6 nights/7 days in a private retreat villa, daily breakfasts, 3 dinners, 2 daily yoga classes, unlimited travel and local advice from Kanami and Andrew, and pick-up drop-off from Puerto Escondido Airport (can arrange transport to/from Huatulco for an extra fee). Adventure activity bookings available for a small extra fee (surfing, rafting, kayaking, bouldering, Spanish classes etc..).

“Everything was really well organized and I felt really well taken care of. The location was perfect: Puerto Escondido is amazing and has such a good vibe. It was a great experience, a good personal challenge, and I loved doing yoga twice a day. I really wish I was still there: I could have stayed another week!” – Aneesa Blake
“I honestly loved Kanami & Andrew taking us out to their favourite restaurants, places, and planning so many activities. The yoga classes were great, the villa was amazing, and I loved the mix of home-cooked meals and eating out. Great job! I came home super relaxed and refreshed, and hope I can be back for the next one!” – Jennifer Swirles
