KANAMI ANDERSON
HEALTH + WELLNESS coach
hello! i’m
KANAMI ANDERSON
I’ve been guiding people out of their comfort zones and into wild new places for almost two decades. I was a whitewater rafting guide for many years before getting into yoga, health, and wellness. For twelve years I was in charge of taking people out into the wilderness, and training them on how to navigate down challenging and remote rivers all over Australia, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Japan, Uganda, and the USA.

ABOUT KANAMI
I actually didn’t start teaching yoga until my late twenties, but have been a dedicated practitioner since the age of eighteen. After many shoulder injuries from my rafting and kayaking days, I had to transition out of outdoor guiding completely to save my body.
That’s when I started to focus solely on yoga, health, and wellness.
Eleven years ago I taught my first yoga class in the ski town Niseko in northern Japan and called it Powder Yoga. Now Powder Yoga is a busy yoga studio which I recently sold so I could to move my life to Southern Mexico where I currently live with my husband and three dogs.
My background in outdoor adventure guiding greatly influenced the style of yoga I like to teach, and I am always looking for ways to push students out of their comfort zones on and off their yoga mats. I encourage students to stay lighthearted and have fun, and I LOVE creating unusual combinations with yoga, activities & subject matter.
